New Page About Us Mission & Vision Church History Pastor John Martin FAQ I'm New Directions Constitution Affirmation of Faith ByLaws The Bible Eternal Life New Page Sunday Sermon Previous Sermons Live Stream Sermon Manuscripts Weekly Bulletin New Page Missions Activities New Page Sunday Services Contact Us Donate Worship Team Application New Page New Page New Page New Page New Page Search Results Eternal Life For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23 GOD LOVES YOU AND CREATED YOU TO HAVE AN ETERNAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM God has demonstrated His love for you "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16 "In this love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (satisfaction) for our sins." 1 John 4:10 So, why is it that most people don't experience God's love? BECAUSE GOD IS HOLY AND MAN IS SINFUL "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 2:23 - (Sin is either active rebellion or passive indifference toward God.) "And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power." II Thessalonians 1:9 "For the wages of sin is death" (separation from God). Romans 6:23 GOD SENT JESUS CHRIST TO DIE ON THE CROSS IN OUR PLACE TO PAY THE PENALTY FOR OUR SINS He Died For Us "For Christ also died for sins once and for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God." 1 Peter 3:18 He Rose From The Dead "God furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead." Acts 17:31 Believing in Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We place our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord as an act of our will. The Bible speaks of this as receiving a gift "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." ~Ephesians 2:8,9 UnSaved This person has never responded to Christ's offer of eternal life If this person were to die today, he would pay the penalty for his sin His destiny would be eternal separation from God Saved This person has responded to Christ's offer of eternal life. If this person were to die today, Christ has paid for his sins. His destiny would be eternal life with God.

Insert Bulletin Insert Week of May 9, 2024 Any port in the storm. That’s what these birds seem to have done; they found some place that met their immediate needs and “settled.” Now, in the face of the storm that’s almost certainly coming, I know that I don’t spend a lot of time talking about the “last days” and the Great Tribulation and the Lord’s return. I also know there are those who wish that I would… at least until I start to do so. There are several reasons why I only address it when the text forces me to. Partially, it’s because I am committed to teaching Scripture, and if our text for the day doesn’t address it, then how can I? But there are also other reasons. One is that we too easily look at what’s happening in the world around us, we see indications that the final Day is drawing near, but we do so OUT OF CONTEXT! Then we get fearful. We forget that prophecy is there to show us that God is in control. It shows us that, even if we’re going to be called upon to endure hard times, God remains in control of the flow of history as well as in control of our lives. Anything that can be brought against us is both in God’s control and temporary. The conclusion to it all will be nothing less than glory! How can we train ourselves to avoid the anxiety and keep it all in perspective? I think it boils down to where we keep our focus. Is it on the world, on the possible suffering that could come our way, or is our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ? To keep Him at the center of all we see, hear, say, or do, we need to be conscious of His presence. That will require cultivating the habit of ongoing prayer, of an ongoing conversation with the One who is actually in control. If you have not begun to do this, I urge you to start right now.
